Cropping Information Sheet – Soil Microbes

Soil Microbes

The addition of Beneficial soil microbes in all cropping situations can have a strong impact on root development and an improvement overall quality and yield.  The combination of soil bacteria and fungi has differing impacts depending on the crop type.

Introduction to Soil Biology

WMF Soil Microbe blends contain a scientifically balanced combination

of beneficial bacterial and fungal organisms that can assist in:

INTRODUCTION TO MINERAL FERTILISERS and LIVING SOIL

The concept underpinning the development of mineral fertilisers, and the use of microbes, is “Living Soil”.  Although not a new idea, it has generally been neglected in more recent times. To view the soil as ‘living’ enables us to view new ways of managing both soil structure and soil management practices.

The Company

Western Mineral Fertilisers (WMF) specialises in the formulation of new granulated mineral fertilisers.

Locally owned and managed, WMF have developed a biologically active silicate based mineral fertiliser that re-mineralises soil and improves soil health and biology.

The Fertiliser

Mineral fertilisers basically consist of a combination of fine mineral ores in their "natural state" (such as micas, alkali feldspars, soft rock phosphate, potassium silicate etc), which are rich in silica and can contain up to 65 essential multi-nutrients (P, K, Mg, Ca, Si, Trace Elements etc).

These nutritionally important minerals can become bio-available through microbial activity on the "natural" ores by certain beneficial microbes.
