It has taken a long time, but after many years of research and development Western Mineral Fertilisers have developed a stable fertiliser coating for dust suppression, which significantly improved the fertiliser handling.

The challenge was made more difficult by having to source a compound that not only withstood the rigours of fertiliser handling, but did it in a way that didn’t affect the all important soil microbes.

Many of the standard industry fertiliser coating can have adverse affects on the soil biology particularly mycorrhizal fungi.

The WMF fertiliser coating is a complex carbohydrate that sets hard, is water soluble, and acts as a biological stimulant. Research shows a potential increase in mycorrhizal numbers.

The fertiliser coated product was launched in August this year and the feedback has been fantastic.
