Concentrated
fungal inoculant for use in breaking down CEREAL STUBBLE
Stubble Digester is a biological product
containing a range of naturally occurring fungi that produce
enzymes in a fermentation process. These fungi and the
enzymes they produce have been specifically selected to
enhance and accelerate the decomposition of cereal straw.
The enzymes are produced during a 48-hour incubation
period prior to the application of the ferment to the cereal
straw.
Previous results have demonstrated that when
applied to standing wheat stubble the product does not
visually change the stubble, however Tyne or Disc implements
pass through the material without it accumulating on the
front of the implement. The cereal straw becomes brittle and
will break-up more easily with mechanical force. However
sunlight and hot conditions degrade the enzyme after
application and the stubble is best knocked-down and
partially incorporated with some soil cover if possible.

To achieve fungal multiplication and the production of
enzymes add 1 litre of Stubble Digester Nutrient and
1 litre of Stubble Digester Inoculant to 200 litres
of clean water and stir occasionally and maintain as close
to 30OC as practical (do not exceed 35OC)
for 48 hours (the microbes are more active in warmer water).
Apply this ferment to cereal stubble at a maximum
rate of 10 litres / hectare and with the highest volume of
water practical. The
ferment may also be applied via overhead irrigation
equipment. There
is no withholding period.
Note: The application rate is dependent on
location, time of year, weather conditions and the condition
of the stubble at the time of application.
